European Leaders Discuss Plan for European Army

Critics say that the advent of a european military, a protracted-held aim of european federalists, might entail an unprecedented switch of sovereignty from ecu state states to unelected bureaucrats in Brussels, the de facto capital of the Europe.

Others say that efforts to move forward on ecu protection integration show that eu leaders have discovered little from Brexit, and are determined to retain their quest to build a eu superstate no matter opposition from big segments of the european public.

"the ones people who've continually warned about Europe's protection goals have usually been instructed no longer to worry... we are usually informed no longer to worry approximately the next integration and then it happens. we've been too regularly conned earlier than and we have to now not be conned again." — Liam Fox, former British protection secretary.
"[C]reation of ecu defense structures, break free NATO, will handiest lead to department among transatlantic companions at a time when unity is wanted inside the face of many hard and threatening threats to the democracies." — Geoffrey Van Orden, uk Conservative birthday celebration protection spokesman.

European leaders are discussing "a long way-achieving proposals" to construct a pan-european military, consistent with a French defense ministry document leaked to the German newspaper,
The efforts are part of plans to relaunch the ecu Union at celebrations in Rome subsequent March marking the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, which mounted the ecu community.

The report confirms rumors that ecu officers are dashing in advance with defense integration now that Britain — the leading navy strength in Europe — could be exiting the 28-member eu Union.

British leaders have repeatedly blocked efforts to create a eu navy because of issues that it might undermine the NATO alliance, the primary protection shape in Europe when you consider that 1949.

Proponents of ecu defense integration argue that it's far had to counter growing safety threats and might store billions of euros in duplication among international locations.

Critics say that the introduction of a ecu military, an extended-held intention (see Appendix beneath) of european federalists, would entail an unparalleled transfer of sovereignty from ecu state states to unelected bureaucrats in Brussels, the de facto capital of the ecu.
Others say that efforts to transport ahead on eu defense integration show that eu leaders have discovered little from Brexit — the June 23 choice by British electorate to depart the eu — and are determined to preserve their quest to build a ecu superstate no matter opposition from massive segments of the eu public.
